Moriah College Book Launch
What started as a ‘get to know you’ conversation at the 2017 NSW Environmental Education Conference in Sydney has now led us to this moment… the launch of Moriah College’s Prachim Class book, “The Fox at our School“.
Through the efforts of the two Nicoles – Nicole Lewis from Moriah College and Nicole (Nic) Schembri from NSW DPI Biosecurity – the early learning students and their teachers have done a wonderful job telling a tale about an urban feral fox seen around the school grounds.
Parents, teachers, school Principal, their Rabi and other special guests gathered to celebrate the students’ achievements.
The teachers put together a short presentation of how they made the book, starting with Nic Schembri’s visit, followed by exploring their bushland area and lots of reading, drawing and discovering foxy facts.
Overall, students and teachers worked together for two months to write and illustrate their own book. Both teachers and parents couldn’t be prouder, as is test-amount to their smiling faces in the photos.
We would like to thank Greater Sydney Local Land Services and NSW DPI Biosecurity for their support with coordinating and helping the schools and workshops as part of the City Livin’ Ferals Enviro-Stories program.
