Entry in the program
- Sponsored Enviro-Stories programs are free for schools to enter. Schools undertaking the Solo Project will incur publishing fees – prices negotiated with the Enviro-Stories Coordinator.
- Entrants in sponsored programs should be from the geographical boundaries of the program.
- Only those entries correctly identified using the official entry form and abiding by these Terms and Conditions will be accepted.
- There is no limit to how many times you can participate, however each entry submitted must have a completed entry form.
- All efforts will be made to provide appropriate acknowledgement of the author(s) whenever the books are used for the purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
- Entries must be received by the closing date on the entry form; entries received after this date are not eligible unless with prior permission from the Enviro-Stories Coordinator.
- Entries that are chosen for publishing will not be returned to the entrant, unless by prior arrangement. Entries that are not chosen for publishing will be returned to the entrant. It is recommended to make a back-up or photocopy of the entry before it is submitted.
- Teachers are encouraged to make parents aware of their child’s participation in this program and these Terms and Conditions in case they wish their child to opt-out of being involved.
Entry format
- Entries shall not be less than 10 pages or exceed the maximum page limit as defined by the individual program being delivered. This does not include the cover page.
- Each page will be submitted using the Enviro-Stories template provided with the program.
- Illustrations can be hand drawings, paintings, collage or photos and must be originals that have been supplied by the entrant. Clip-art computer images will not be accepted unless the artwork has been created by the entrant or by prior arrangement with Enviro-Stories Coordinator. PeeKdesigns and the sponsor(s) retain the right to use any illustrations and photographs entered in the program for ongoing non-commercial promotional and educational purposes in any media without notice and without any fee paid to the entrant. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that all illustrations and photographs submitted have relevant permission to publish, and its use by PeeKdesigns and the sponsor(s) will not be in breach of any third party intellectual property rights.
- Text can be either typed into the MSWord Story Template or hand written, so long as it is clear and legible.
- Entries must be entirely the students’ own work and adhere to the theme of the program.
Publicity release
- The entrant(s) may be required by the sponsor(s) or PeeKdesigns to participate in a photo, voice over and/or video session and acknowledge that the aforementioned organisations reserve the right to use such publicity photos, sound bytes and/or videos in any medium and in any reasonable manner it sees fit.
- Where a photograph is entered as part of the program and includes the image of a person other than the entrant(s), then the entrant warrants that he or she has obtained all necessary permissions from that other person (or in the case of a child, that child’s parents or lawful guardian) for the image to be used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- By participating in the program, entrants and/or their representative(s) consent to the use of the their name(s), place of residence, photograph, voice and/or image for any publicity and marketing purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by the sponsor(s), PeeKdesigns and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, without payment or compensation, throughout the world in perpetuity.
Sponsors rights
- The sponsor(s) reserve the right to use all text and images entered in the program for publishing purposes and for on-going non-commercial promotional and educational purposes to improve awareness and understanding of natural resource or cultural issues in their region. This may include display on the sponsors’ internet sites, in a public exhibition or other means.
- The sponsor(s) reserves the right to modify text and images of the entries for publishing purposes. Published stories are to be used as a resource for others. Text may be altered for story consistency, technical content, word/page length and grammar. Images may be manipulated and enhanced to increase the quality of the resource. All effort is made to keep the integrity of the original story.
- By entering in the program, you agree to waive all rights to payment for copyright, royalty or any other purpose for the submitted entry.
- The sponsor(s) reserves the right to substitute, terminate, withdraw, suspend or cancel any portion of the program, and/or any component of the prize, at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever in their sole discretion.
- These Terms and Conditions may be changed at any time by the sponsor(s) or PeeKdesigns without notice.
PeeKdesigns rights
- PeeKdesigns is the intellectual property and copyright holder for the Enviro-Stories program and education materials produced as part of running the program. Replication of the program materials for commercial purposes without written permission is prohibited. Replication of the program materials for educational purposes needs to be accompanied with acknowledgement to PeeKdesigns.
- PeeKdesigns reserves the right to use all text and images entered in the program for on-going non-commercial promotional and educational purposes in any media without notice and without any fee paid to the entrant.
