Corowa: Campfires to Chocolate
ABOUT
The first inhabitants of Corowa were the Bangerang people who lived by the river. Charles Sturt was the first European to set foot on the future site of Corowa.
The first flour mill opened in 1887 servicing the local area. The new Corowa Flour Mill was constructed in 1923 and was abandoned in 1970 as exporting flour was no longer profitable. In 2009, the Corowa Chocolate and Whiskey Company purchased the abandoned mill and a new era was about to begin.
