Humewood, Goat mustering on the Hay plains
ABOUT
Humewood Station has channel country and irrigation. It is quite dry and in need of a good rain. One of the pests on Humewood are goats. They eat the grass that the livestock eat. They can spread disease and also destroy fences. The Booths realised that if they could muster the feral goats on their property, then they could sell them for meat and make some money as well as reducing the pest numbers.
